Using Adobe Illustrator CS6, we created four DVD covers, one for each of us, each disk spelling out the word BLUE. For the design we used the Helvetica font that we had chosen to use for the titles in our documentary, however we used character and paragraph styling to manipulate each character making it longer or wider, to make sure each letter was the same fixed width and that they fully extended off the circumference of the DVD cover.
The colours chosen are from a vast range from midnight blue to sky blue, and this range of blue shades anchors the message of the documentary: that blue is a universally understood concept which covers all areas of life and is surrounding us all the time.
The image above is a screenshot of the final DVD covers.
This is a screenshot for when we came to print the DVDs using Epsom CD print software.
